Welcome!

...and thank you for checking out Lynn and Kelvin Brewster's 'Homebrewed Music' website!

We are both semi-retired, have recently moved to mid-Wales and are now teaching instrumental music & theory exclusively online.

[All registered pupils are welcome to get in touch if they are in our area, though: we will be pleased to see you in person!]

.......................................................

We are both well qualified and experienced teachers and musicians based about 12 miles from Welshpool. We teach classical guitar, folk guitar, violin,  viola, mandolin, oboe and cor anglais, piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone and music theory.

We love music and specialise in helping pupils of all ages and abilities to discover and experience the joy of playing a musical instrument.

Our aim is simply  to provide the best affordable 'bespoke' instrumental music tuition possible. We start 'where each pupil is' and tailor individual tuition to their aspirations, abilities, commitment - and parental support, if appropriate. We will do everything we can to ensure that every pupil progresses as well and as quickly as they are able to.

We both have successful and extensive experience of preparing pupils for graded music examinations from beginner to diploma level [as well as music college/university entrance] but are equally happy to develop pupils' skills without the need to 'pass exams'. Some pupils progress further faster without exam pressure whilst others thrive on it!

We take part in a range of concerts throughout the year ourselves [see 'Studio News'' and links on 'Resources' tab] and  try to host informal pupils' concerts each year in our studio [usually on a Sunday afternoon] for those pupils who also wish to gain performing experience in a friendly, supportive environment. These are free events which provide an opportunity for parents to meet and for pupils to meet others with similar interests.

We hope you enjoy looking through our website and look forward to hearing from you soon.
